4.6.1 Analysis of the environmental management system
Organization's top management should be at regular intervals established by them, to analyze the environmental management system in order to assess the suitability, adequacy and effectiveness of the system. This analysis should cover the environmental aspects of activities, products and services that are the subject of an environmental management system.
Analysis of the management may be based on the following data:
a) results of internal audits and evaluations of compliance with applicable legal and other requirements that undertakes to abide by the organization
b) information from external stakeholders, including claims
c) environmental effectiveness of the organization,
d) the extent to which objectives and targets,
e) status of corrective and preventive actions,
f) action taken on the basis of previous management reviews,
g) changed circumstances, including
1) changes in products, activities and services of the organization,
2) assessment of environmental aspects on the basis of planned or new developments,
3) change the applicable legal and other requirements that must comply with the organization,
4) views of interested parties,
5) advances in science and technology, and
6) experience gained on the basis of emergency or Accident
h) recommendations for improvement.
The results of the analysis of the environmental management system can include decisions on
- suitability, adequacy and effectiveness of the system
- changes in physical, human and financial resources, and
- actions related to possible changes in environmental policy, objectives and targets and other elements of the environmental management system.
Minutes of management review may include copies of meeting agendas, lists of the persons present, presentation materials and handouts, as well as management decisions listed in the memoranda, reports, minutes, or tracking system.
Each organization can decide who will take part in the review by management. Typically, this includes the staff of Ecology (collecting and presenting information), the managers of the major divisions (whose operations include the significant environmental aspects or who are responsible for the basic elements of an environmental management system, such as training, logging, etc.) and senior management (which evaluates the effectiveness of environmental management system, identifies priorities for improvement, provides resources and ensures the effectiveness of follow-up).
4.6.2 Continuous Improvement
General management - Continuous Improvement Continuous improvement is a fundamental characteristic of the environmental management system. Continuous improvement is achieved through the implementation of objectives and targets of environmental indicators and the overall improvement of the environmental management system and any of its components. |
4.6.2.1 Opportunities to improve
The organization shall continually evaluate its environmental efficiency and effectiveness of its environmental management system to identify opportunities for improvement. Top management should participate directly in this assessment by the management review.
Determination of deficiencies in the system of environmental management (including actual or potential discrepancies) also provides ongoing opportunities for improvement. For this improvement the organization must not only know what

4.6.2.2 Implementation of continuous improvement
When making decisions about the possibilities of improving them should be assessed in order to determine what action to take. Actions necessary to improve the plan, and changes in the environmental management system must be made in accordance with those plans. Improvement does not necessarily perform in all areas simultaneously.
Practical help - Examples of improvements Improvement can be a pleasure in the process of establishing and reviewing environmental objectives and targets, or beyond. Here are some examples of possible improvements: a) creating a process for evaluating new materials to support the use of less hazardous materials, b) improving the process of establishing the applicable legal requirements for more timely identification of new requirements for compliance, c) improving the training of staff in the field of materials handling to reduce waste organizations d) introduction of technologies for processing waste water to enable its future use. e) changes to the default settings on the copier equipment to print double-sided copies in the printing, f) changes in delivery routes to reduce consumption of fossil fuels transportation companies, and g) definition of objectives and targets for fuel substitution in the work of the boiler and to reduce particulate emissions.
